Dr. Diane Dye is a transformational leadership researcher and management consultant who specializes in converting organizational crises into competitive advantages. As CEO of People Risk Consulting, she brings over two decades of leadership experience and nearly a decade of dedicated research in organizational change and risk management.
Dr. Dye earned her EdD in Organizational Change and Leadership and Masters in Communication Management from the University of Southern California. Her groundbreaking research focuses on the intersection of crisis management, psychological safety, and organizational innovation.
Research and Methodology
Dr. Dye has developed two pioneering frameworks that are reshaping how organizations approach crisis and sensitive workplace challenges:
Her Critical Opportunity Method, published in the workbook Creating Critical Opportunity (2020), emerged from extensive literature review and experimentation. This methodology reveals that embracing internal locus of control is essential for developing the awareness, consciousness, and humility needed to view critical situations through an innovative lens—transforming potential setbacks into breakthrough opportunities.
Her doctoral research, Disclosure of Abuse to Empowerment (USC, 2024), resulted in the creation of the DEPTH Method through rigorous qualitative study. This research demonstrates that creating psychologically safe workplace relationships enables leaders to support employees experiencing domestic violence, ultimately improving performance outcomes while fostering speak-up culture through individualized support and resource provision.
Recognition and Impact
Dr. Dye was inducted into the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in 2018, recognizing her academic excellence and scholarly contributions. She will be featured in the Inspired Woman Book, San Antonio edition, in May 2026.
Through People Risk Consulting, Dr. Dye conducts independent research while providing consulting, speaking, curriculum development, and media commentary. Her work bridges the gap between academic research and practical application, helping organizations transform their most challenging moments into catalysts for innovation and growth.
